We build high performance
wooden bikes

There are many reasons that we use wood for our frames, but it is primarily used for the exceptional ride quality that it helps us achieve.

"It has a vibration-damping quality unlike anything I've ever ridden
that hasn't had suspension."

Warren Rossiter, Cycling Plus, January 2022

  • Ride Quality

Our characteristically smooth and comfortable ride is achieved thanks to wood’s remarkable ability to absorb and damp vibration.

Of course, it is not enough to simply choose the best material, it must also be used in the best way.

As designer and maker, we control all of the factors that affect ride quality; frame geometry, tube shapes and sizes, their wall thickness, the details of tube junctions and, the selection of components.

Our design decisions optimise comfort and enhance performance.

  • Strength & Longevity

We use UK grown European Ash, a superb material for many engineered products, including tough, off-road bikes.

With laboratory testing, real-life riding, and careful design we’ve used wood to make a bike frame that is both safe and strong, and which should last you a lifetime.

Our warranty should help to provide peace of mind (see details).

  • Environmental Impact

All products, including bikes, have an environmental cost in their production. By using wood as a frame material, we ensure that this major component of the bike is carbon negative.

We source all our wood locally and the trees from which our timber is milled, have been grown on sustainably managed estates within 100miles or so of the sawmill.

Working with a Welsh tree planting organisation, Stump Up For Trees, we plant five trees for every bike or frame built. They ensure that each tree is cared for until it is mature enough to survive on its own.

  • Connections

There are many technical reasons for choosing our wooden frames, but riding a bike is about so much more. It’s about the people that we ride with and the places we explore.

Climbing on a bike takes us out into nature, and the experiences we have are influenced by the connections that we feel with nature.

Riding a wood framed bike through cool forests and along fast dirt tracks will always enhance that sense of connection and lead to a more rewarding experience.

"The general lack of ‘buzz’ coming back from the frame makes the whole riding experience that much more pleasurable than other bikes, in a way that I could not have imagined. It’s an amazingly comfortable yet responsive ride."

"Your beautiful bike proved to be a wonderful, friendly, mile-chomping partner for my 1,000 mile adventure from St Malo to Nice earlier this year.
A great companion and conversation starter."
